Unveiling exciton many-body interactions in WS2 single crystal

چکیده
Understanding the exciton many-body interactions and their recombination dynamics in transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) are important for potential applications optoelectronics valleytronics. Herein, using ultrafast non-degenerate transient differential reflectance spectroscopy, we studied WS2 single crystal. Spectrally temporally resolved studies revealed strong interrelated excitonic of A, B C excitons associated stark blueshift broadening resonances. Additionally, observed an unusual prolonged decay direct band-gap (A exciton) with fluence, which interprets presence trap state system. Our findings provide a comprehensive understanding material’s intrinsic properties physics offers efficient pathways to optoelectronic based on TMDCs.

متن کاملExciton Binding Energy of Monolayer WS2
The optical properties of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC) feature prominent excitonic natures. Here we report an experimental approach to measuring the exciton binding energy of monolayer WS₂ with linear differential transmission spectroscopy and two-photon photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy (TP-PLE). TP-PLE measurements show the exciton binding energy of 0.71 ± 0.01 eV...
متن کاملMinimizing Effective Many-Body Interactions
A simple two-level model is developed and used to test the properties of effective interactions for performing nuclear structure calculations in truncated model spaces. It is shown that the effective manybody interactions sensitively depend on the choice of the single-particle basis and they appear to be minimized when a self-consistent HartreeFock basis is used.
متن کاملThe exciton many - body theory extended to arbitrary composite bosons
We have recently constructed a many-body theory for composite excitons, in which the possible carrier exchanges between N excitons can be treated exactly through a set of dimensionless “Pauli scatterings” between two excitons. Many-body effects with excitons turn out to be rather simple because excitons are the exact one-electron-hole-pair eigenstates of the semiconductor Hamiltonian, thus form...
متن کاملExciton dynamics and annihilation in WS2 2D semiconductors.
We systematically investigate the exciton dynamics in monolayered, bilayered, and trilayered WS2 two-dimensional (2D) crystals by time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) spectroscopy. The exciton lifetime when free of exciton annihilation was determined to be 806 ± 37 ps, 401 ± 25 ps, and 332 ± 19 ps for WS2 monolayer, bilayer, and trilayer, respectively. By measuring the fluorescence quantum yi...
